New Member: Indian Restaurant Mumbai

The British Chamber of Commerce in Japan is delighted to welcome Indian Restauant Mumbai to our ever-growing membership base.

Since opening its doors in Japan in 2005, Mumbai has grown into a much-loved presence across Tokyo and the surrounding region, bringing the breadth, warmth and generosity of Indian cuisine to diners in Japan. Its restaurants celebrate both familiar favourites and regional traditions, from aromatic biryanis and tandoor cooking to dishes spanning Bengali, Kashmiri, Gujarati, Rajasthani, Goan and South Indian cuisine.

Indian Restaurant Mumbai currently spans 16 locations around Tokyo 

Beyond its restaurants, Mumbai provides catering for private and corporate occasions and has supported events including those connected with the Embassy of India in Japan. Recently, the restaurant welcomed Indian Prime Minister Mr.Modi during his visit to Japan.

With vegan, vegetarian, Jain and halal options available, the group has built its offering around hospitality that is generous, adaptable and unmistakably Indian.

As a group dedicated to serving authentic Indian cuisine across Japan and proudly catering for prestigious institutions like the Indian Embassy, we are excited to connect with the vibrant British and international business community in Japan.

Why did you join the BCCJ?
We joined to integrate into Japan’s vibrant international business network and build meaningful connections with British and global organisations. We want to contribute to this diverse community while exploring new corporate partnerships.

What do you most hope to gain from your time as a member?
We hope to increase our brand visibility in the corporate sector, understand the needs of international professionals, and become the go-to culinary and event venue partner for chamber members.

What makes your organisation unique in your industry or market?
Indian Restaurant Mumbai bridges authentic culinary traditions with premium corporate hospitality. We are a trusted caterer for the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, offer diverse North and South Indian menus, and expertly accommodate international dietary needs (vegetarian, halal, and allergen-conscious).

What recent achievements or milestones are you most proud of?
We are incredibly proud of opening our new flagship location, Mumbai Omotesando Aoyama (+The India Tea House), this past July. Located inside the La Porte Aoyama building, this stunning venue is inspired by India's Rang Mahal (Palace of Colors) and is perfectly designed for business luncheons, private parties, and corporate events.

What kind of collaborations or connections are you most interested in building through the BCCJ?
We want to connect with corporate event planners, HR managers, and chamber executives looking for premium catering or event spaces. We are eager to host members at our new Aoyama venue and collaborate on joint networking events or corporate benefit programs.
